breakdown
-
Lift Ready is the starting point for anyone who wants to feel safer, more confident, and better prepared before joining our strength-based classes. This class focuses on learning the key movement patterns used at Bone Health Studio — including squatting, hinging, lifting, bracing, balance and controlled loading — in a calm, supportive environment.
It is ideal if you don’t want to go through the pre-screening, you are new to the gym, returning after time away, managing aches or injuries, or simply want to understand how to move well before progressing. The goal is not to push you hard straight away — it is to help you feel capable, informed and ready.
-
Bone Builder is informed by LIFTMOR — the landmark research showing that appropriately supervised, progressive resistance training can be both safe and highly valuable for people with low bone density. This class is specifically for people with osteopenia or osteoporosis, wanting to build stronger bones, better balance and greater confidence with movement.
Every session is professionally guided, carefully progressed and adapted to your body, medical history and current ability. Bone Builder is not about throwing people into heavy lifting before they are ready — it is about teaching you how to load safely, move well, and build strength from the inside out in a supportive small-group studio environment.
-
LIFTCOR is inspired by the LIFTMOR protocol and designed for people who want the benefits of progressive strength training, without losing sight of whole-body control, stability and movement quality. It is ideal for endurance athletes, active adults, or those concerned about bone health, RED-S, recurrent bone stress injuries, or a family history of osteoporosis.
This class offers the perfect balance between progressively heavy strength training and holistic stability work. Sessions are structured to build stronger bones, better movement control, improved resilience and greater confidence — helping you become not just fitter, but stronger, more stable and better prepared for the demands of sport, training and everyday life.
thinking about joining a class?
It is completely normal to have questions before you begin. Here are some of the most common things people ask when they are considering a Bone Health Studio class.
-
In most cases, yes — when exercise is prescribed properly and matched to the individual. Our classes are designed to support people with osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, RED-S, menopause-related changes, injury history, and pre- or post-surgical strengthening needs, with careful coaching, close supervision, and thoughtful progression throughout.
-
Pre-screening is strongly recommended, especially if you have osteoporosis, osteopenia, recent injury, surgery, pain, low training confidence, RED-S concerns or uncertainty around safe exercise. It is not mandatory for everyone, as we understand it can be a time and cost barrier. However, Bone Health Studio may require pre-screening or medical clearance where we believe further information is needed to keep you safe.
-
That is exactly what the pre-screen is designed to help with. We take the time to understand your goals, your background, and any relevant health or injury considerations, then guide you toward the class or starting point that best suits your needs.
-
That is absolutely okay. Many people who come to Bone Health Studio are starting with little or no gym experience at all. You are not expected to know what to do before you arrive — our role is to teach you well, help you feel comfortable, and build your confidence step by step.
-
Yes. Exercises can be adjusted to suit your body, your history, and your current capacity. That might mean changing the movement, the range, the load, or the way an exercise is coached so that training feels supportive, achievable, and right for you.
-
Yes. Our classes are intentionally kept small so that everyone receives close coaching, clear feedback, and ongoing support throughout the session. The aim is to create an environment where you feel safe, well looked after, and confident in what you are doing.
-
Each class is structured, purposeful, and coach-led from start to finish. Depending on the class, you can expect a focus on key strength movements, careful technique, appropriate loading, and a clear progression designed to help you build strength, confidence, and resilience over time.
-
Absolutely you can. Everything we’re trying to do at BHS is to break down barriers of entry getting in to resistance training.
You MUST book a time first, via email confirmation, and then you can come and observe a class, chat with the group, and ask questions afterwards.
-
Yes. All class participants complete a waiver and health declaration before booking online. This helps us understand any injuries, medical considerations or exercise limitations, so we can coach you safely and appropriately.
